Testimonials
“I applaud your desire to provide programming that uses the media, music, and technology necessary to reach the teens of today, and, at the same time, has the moral fabric that teaches lessons worth learning (and living). What a blessing for young people to see programming where their peers are shown in a pure light, not as illusions of reality created by Hollywood and the networks."
(Karen, teacher)
"All the young people on UC really are representative of their peers
throughout America in terms of what they face daily in a media saturated society … the young people are so real … so typical." (Ray Watson, parent)
"I LOVE THE PROGRAM! IT TEACHES THE REALNESS OF WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON.” (Morgan, 8th grade)
"It's such a positive program for teens. It's just GREAT!!!!!!!!"
(Jessica, 8th Grade)
"I love the program. It encourages me, and lets me know that I am not on my own in this fight against the world...in my group of peers. My favorite Cast member would have to be Shannon, because we are so much alike." (Meg 10th grade)
"I think this program is really great. It really deals with things that are going through my mind and other teenager's minds. It's also great for people who don't have anyone they can discuss these issues with and great for people who do as well." (Anna, 9th grade)
"The program shows me about what's right and wrong. That it is okay to be different, because that is who you are. I wish more people at my school would watch this program. Maybe they would know its okay to be different and be who you are for you, not for anyone else." (Brandy, 8th grade)
“Ultimate Challenge was one of the most inspirational episodes of Ultimate Choice I've seen in a long time. To see other teenagers expressing the very emotions that I was feeling showed me how to express them myself.” (Keenan Korab, 9th Grade)
“With the Ultimate Choice program…I believe that you are a great example of what our young people are capable of doing.”

I have been doing cognitive programming in the Juvenile hall for the past few years. We now have a program that includes anger management, and a life recovery class (drugs, sex, gangs etc.) The ultimate choice video series has been such a blessing for me to be able to get exciting material without having to do the presentation by myself. We usually watch a video 2 to 3 times in the work week. I watch the video with the kids and take notes. At the end we have a short lecture on the video and an interactive talk about they learned from the video. I can honestly tell you the UC video is the kids’ favorite group and they are always excited to watch them. The kids get an index card and keep it in their rooms. When they complete a group, I collect them and initial them. After 10 groups we have a graduation were I talk about them and what I have noticed about their progress. They get a certificate commending them on their completion of at least 10 cognitive programming sessions. I have had many minors shake my hand at the end of their stay and thank me for the time and the materials to give them skills for living and listening to their problems. This video series should have a large marketing place in the California Juvenile system, California is pushing more programming, and the video series does all the work. The atmosphere in the unit I work in has changed dramatically in the few months I have been using the video series. The overall safety and security in the unit has benefited because of the skills I am able to present to the minors after the videos. I was chosen as Probation Officer of the Year for Central California and am competing against 2 others for Probation Officer of the Year for the State of California. I don’t care about the award, it just shows you that your material is being noticed and my career has benefited from its use.
Thanks again,
Ben Wheeler
