AB1 and AB2 are blue, while OG1 and OG2 are green. The ones with the bows are girls, and the ones with bow-ties are boys. Lesson Summaries

1. HONESTY

OG1 discovers a calculator dropped by AB1 and takes it because no one sees her pick it up. Later, at the Space Station Learning Team math test, the team asks where she got her calculator. She lies about how she got it and how it was delivered. Then AB1 searches for his missing calculator. OG1 confesses to having taken the calculator, and returns it to AB1. She is ashamed of having lied. AB1 says she can borrow the calculator anytime as long as she returns it. AB1 then defines honesty as “telling the truth and not being deceptive.” OG1 responds to Commander Gordon’s question: “How can we be more honest?” with the words: “By not hiding things or being sneaky.” Commander Gordon points out how complicated and hurtful lying can be.

2. COURAGE

Two characters show courage in this episode, each under different circumstances. First, AB1 role - plays with OG1 for encouragement to ask Commander Gordon about an educational field trip during regular class time. When the station almost gets hit with asteroids, OG2, who was supposed to be stationed at the monitoring console but had decided to go water plants instead, hears the warning alarm and hurries to reroute the station in the nick of time! Meanwhile, AB1 asks Commander Gordon about the field trip, and Gordon agrees that the team can attend. He then congratulates AB1 and OG2 for displaying courage and explains courage to the students.

3. PREJUDICE

The Space Station Learning Team goes to the Intergalactic “Warp -Waffle” Tournament full of high hopes, and returns dejected because the judges declared that OG1 and OG2 couldn’t play. The reason was as silly and unfair as all prejudice is: the “OGs” are green! Horrified for their teammates, AB1 and AB2 withdraw from the tournament, and the team returns to the space station to tell Commander Gordon what happened. They have a discussion about the unfairness of prejudice and the pain it causes. Afterwards, they vow never to treat other people this way, having learned first-hand how much it hurts. CC1 interrupts with a message from Warp-Waffle headquarters: the commissioners who rejected OG1 and OG2 have been fired for their actions. The whole team is now invited back to play in the tournament, and off they go, waving pennants and pompons.

4. PATIENCE

A class demonstration for the Learning Team has been one year in preparation. It involves taking off the team’s anti-gravity belts while they are on the moon. OG2 is the most excited about it, and can’t wait for the demonstration to start. When he arrives, he discovers that the class has been postponed for another day. Commander Gordon then enlists OG1’s help to show OG2 how to be patient.

5. RESPONSIBILITY

AB2 dozes off on comet watch. Meanwhile, OG1 has to forego a game of Warp-Waffle in order to clean up the greenhouse and water the plants. OG2 and AB1 are cleaning the storage bay. Suddenly the alarm sounds to signal an approaching comet, so Commander Gordon tells CC1 to redirect the space station out of harm’s way. Then CC1 says that if AB2 had stayed awake, there wouldn’t have been an emergency. After that, Gordon asks the team what responsibility means. AB2 says that she must do what she said she’ll do before anything else, because that’s how you earn trust. The rest of the team agrees.

6. RESPECT

OG2 and AB2 are angry with AB1 for taking their things without permission, not bringing them back, and leaving them all over the station. OG2 decides to get even with AB1 by hiding his earphones. Gordon listens to AB2 complain that AB1 is a disrespectful team member. Not only is he careless with other team members’ belongings, he also calls OG2 a “greeney” head. OG1 intervenes to say that calling someone names is hurtful. AB1 understands that he has hurt his friend by calling him names, and says he won’t do it again. Gordon explains to OG2 that getting even is no solution for an argument. Gordon mediates between OG2 and AB1, has them talk it out, and shows AB1 the error of his ways. The team defines respect and promises to be more respectful from now on.

7. KINDNESS

OG1 is suffering from a cold, and her team members rally around to do her chores so that she can take care of her cold and concentrate on getting better. OG1 waters the plants, AB1 helps clean up, and AB2 organizes the cargo boxes. All of the team can then attend the Virtual Video lesson, but first there is a delivery of chicken soup for OG1 from an alien spaceship that had heard of OG1’s illness, and wanted to help. The team has learned that kindness is a like a big soup, full of love, charity, goodwill, and generosity.

8. SELF-ESTEEM

The episode begins with AB1 flashing back to a lesson in self-esteem in which Commander Gordon showed him how to use a mirror as a tool to talk to himself about his positive attributes. AB1 looks in a mirror and says that he is one of a kind, who can accomplish his goals if he stays focused. When OG2 cries that he isn’t like Commander Gordon, the Commander tells OG2 that he doesn’t need to be like him to be; just use him as a role model. Learn from the good things Gordon does, and show them to others, to create a positive chain reaction. OG2 thinks back on the things he can do well, that he is a good student who respects his teachers and that he is a good friend. He starts to feel better about himself. Now, according to CC1, the whole team radiates self-esteem and Gordon is proud of them.

9. TEAMWORK

Meet a new character-- Rocket! Rocket is the team’s new pet dog. OG1’s sister sent her the dog from Pluto and now the team learns the value of teamwork as everyone pitches in to help train and take care of their new friend. Later, Rocket proves he is a valuable team member too by coming through in an emergency situation. Gordon congratulates everyone for displaying teamwork and welcomes Rocket to the team.

10. SELF-DISCIPLINE

Rocket again plays a central role in this skit as the team learns about self-discipline. OG2 notices how OG1 always seems so organized and happy and has an infectious positive attitude. He wonders how she does it. OG1 explains how everything she does, like getting up early to exercise, is part of a plan to achieve her goals. She explains “I guess self-discipline means making the choices that make me feel good about myself.” Gordon goes on to explain the merits of planning your day to make time for work and fun and the benefits of having self-discipline.

11. MANNERS

Commander Gordon takes time with the team to review how important it is to always have manners! From the importance of “Please” and “Thank You” to the subtle difference between “Can I?” and “May I?” , the team learns lessons that insure that they will always greet people politely and respectfully! The skit also highlights the importance of apologizing.
